the snowbanks left about a month ago, the signpost that was destroyed by a
snowplow was finally replaced on 6 May, and our sign was re-hung on 7 May.
By Road
There are probably a half dozen different ways to reach
Newboro by car from any given starting point. These are the ones we
use most often.
From Ottawa (main roads)
Take the Queensway to Highway 416.
South on Highway 416 to Roger Stevens Drive (County Road 6).
West on County Road 6 to Smiths Falls.
At Smiths Fall, join Highway 15 going south.
Continue south on Highway 15 to County Road 42 (Crosby).
West (right) on County Road 42.
Proceed for about 5 km.
Watch for the B&B sign on the right just after you enter Newboro.
From Ottawa (back roads)
South on Richmond Road to Richmond.
West through Richmond (County Road 10).
Continue on County Road 10 through Perth to Westport.
East (left) on County Road 42 to Newboro.
Through Newboro and down the hill.
As you approach the foot of the hill, watch for the B&B sign on the
left.
From the United States
North on Interstate 81 to the Thousand Islands Bridge.
West on Highway 401 to County Road 3.
North on County Road 3 to County Road 33.
North (right) on County Road 33 to County Road 42.
West (left) on County Road 42 to Crosby.
Cross Highway 15 at Crosby and proceed about 5 km.
Watch for the B&B sign on the right just after you enter Newboro.
From Toronto
Highway 401 east to County Road 10 (Division Street exit,
Kingston).
North on County Road 10 to County Road 42.
East (right) on County Road 42 to Newboro.
Through Newboro and down the hill.
As you approach the foot of the hill, watch for the B&B sign on the
left.
Parking at Newboro House
When you arrive at Newboro House, you may find it most
convenient to pull up to the front walkway to unload your luggage
at the B&B porch.
Overnight parking is not permitted on Drummond Street (County
Road 42), however. We provide one parking space along the
fence to the left as you face the B&B doorway, and two
additional spaces in front of the carriage house (further along,
to the right as you face the B&B doorway).
By Water
Boaters travelling the Rideau Canal system can dock overnight
at Newboro Lock. Newboro House is about a
twenty-minute walk from the lockstation. We can arrange no-charge
pick-up for guests who arrive by boat.
By Air
The Township of Rideau Lakes has its own aerodrome, which can accommodate small private
aircraft in the summer. We can arrange no-charge pick-up for guests
who arrive by air.
